anklebiters ate up your personality (Brighton part 1)

Tuesday, 7 May 2013

Yesterday was bank holiday monday, which meant a day off school, so me and my parents decided to spend the weekend in Brighton. I haven't actually been before (that I can remember, anyway) but was desperate to go as I'd heard it was full of vintage and antique stores, and quirky, extravagant people a little like myself. I'm also quite interested in going to college/university there.
The North Laines are just as you'd imagine...gorgeous streets with pretty painted houses, bunting hanging from buildings, oodles of antique and curiousity shops, and loads of thrift and vintage stores. I felt like I'd died and gone to heaven...Brighton is my paradise, literally.

There was a huge vintage warehouse/emporium, as if Rookie had made a huge store like John Lewis/Selfridges/Macys. It had the cutest turnstile entrance and it was really awesome.

Pretended to try on a dress so I could take a sneaky blog picture for you guys.

I wore my new office platforms, h&m tights, Levi shorts,a leopard shirt from a thrift store in Brick Lane (it's too small and pops open around my chest so I have to wear it under things) a sleeveless sweater from a kilo sale, random bracelets, gold chain, and my rolling stones necklace from Rock by Mail. My flower crown is handmade, and you can win one just like it in my giveaway here: http://roseandvintage.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/giveaway.html

I made some moodboards that some up the sort of springtime feelings I'm having at the moment. I made them my taking screenshots of my tumblr archive.

I've got another post from Brighton with a photoshoot I did on the beach, and some awesome 70's vibes for you all coming later on this week, and don't forget to check out and enter my giveaway: http://roseandvintage.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/giveaway.html

  13. Hi, Ellie! I envy you living so close to Brighton, a place where you can step back in time and sample the fascinating artifacts of the 20th century. You have an exciting blog and I decided to follow you. I noticed you paid tribute to three of my favorite classic American TV series, The Brady Bunch, Friends and Twin Peaks. Coincidentally, I mentioned Twin Peaks and David Lynch in my current post. I grew up in the 60s and my blog is a celebration of the best music and memories of the 1950s thru the 80s. If you are time-warped I think you'll enjoy my blog and I invite you to come over and take a look around. I'd love to have you join the fun and become a follower and a friend. Thank you, Ellie!
