Hello folks...I have a real quick outfit post for you today. I have had four breakdowns over my art exam so far this week, including crying to my art teacher because 'I have no idea what I'm doing.' It's my own fault...I have a habit of not letting people help me, even when I really need it..resulting in many last-minute panics such as this one. At least it's only gcse, hopefully I will manage to organise my messy brain by the time A levels roll around.
Jacket: Kilo Sale // Jumper: Brighton // Skirt: Beyond Retro // Tights: H&M // Socks: Topshop // Shoes: Rokit
Hope you're having a good week, I'll be back with a longer post soon!

I love the turtleneck :) I tend to have the same problems when it comes to school, all I can say is it gets better, you'll always have a messy brain but you'll learn to be ok with it and you'll learn to manage it. It won't always be like this.

thankyou so much...so lovely to hear!
DeleteI know exactly how you feel about the stress of GCSEs. AS levels for me so far have been better, good luck with the rest of the year! Absolutely love the outfit x

thankyou! I'm so looking forward to AS!
DeleteYou're not the only one having breakdowns at the moment; trust me, we all do at some point! I would definitely be vegetarian if my parents would let me - I've tried it for a couple months before, and I loved it. Anyway, lovely outfit. Hella love for turtlenecks at this time of year!

thankyou! and god it's nice to hear I'm not the only one!
DeleteI'm beginning to think that my final piece for this last GCSE art project was a bit over ambitious :') Fingers crossed everything turns out okay for you! ^v^ x

thankyou so much!
DeleteI love how you've put this outfit together, the skirt is gorgeous. Your hair colour is so lovely too! I know exactly what you mean about GCSEs and art in particular, but it gets so much better! Melissa XO

thankyou Melissa!
Deletehave you lost weight? how?
ReplyDeleteum my weight fluctuates like normal people's does. I'm more than happy to talk about personal things like this via email but I don't really feel comfortable discussing it in public just yet. Thanks x
DeleteI love this outfit so much, and Ellie please please please can I have your hair colour????? Also me and my friend Rosie are venturing down to the East End Thrift Store not this weekend but next weekend (we're from brighton woo) and I was wondering whether you have any recommendations of any cool places to visit/eat etc? We'll get travel cards so where ever you think is good - we're a bit clueless, and would love to wander to some of the less well known parts! Thank you and don't worry if there isn't anywhere, and good luck on your art! I hope it gets better:) xoxoxox

Thankyou so much! Ooh well if you go to east end, get the overground train from whitechapel (I think) like two stops to shoreditch high street and walk through to brick lane...Spitalfield's market is usually on and there's so much cute stuff along with shops like lomography, urban outfitters etc (and the off license sells like all the coolest magazines) then go down brick lane (there's the nicest fish and chip shop called poppies) and ah there is so many vintage shops and rough trade records and cafes...you'll love it! Covent garden is lovely too, and you can walk from there to Oxford street and soho:) hope this helps!
Deleteyou're welcome, and thank you so so much! this is honestly such a help, and I had no idea that rough trade was near - I've been dying to go for months! it sounds great, and thank you again- will be sure to check these places out:) xxx
Deletepleased to help! hope you have a great time! xx
DeleteOkay, I am loving those tights and that skirt and the shoes, and your hair, and all of it, just all of it :). I completely understand you on the school issues, I've had some freakouts like that this year (not feeling "good enough" etc.) I'm not doing gcses (living in America as I do), but school in general has had its ups and downs. I've found it's helpful to just not think about school for a while, watch some T.V., listen to music etc. and go back to it once you feel fully relaxed. You'll get through it, and judging by your outfit here (and in all of your posts, who am I kidding?), you'll look fabulous doing so!

Thankyou so much - it's so lovely to hear!
Deletesuper coolbpost!! i did GCSE art last year + found that the exam board seemed to care more about quantity rather than quality, well actually the combination of the two (which is kind of impossible unless you had less work/subjects to do/more time). i found this really frustrating as i would spend a long time on one piece/a page making me behind in work. so, due to the demand + time limit (along with revision + other hw) i recomend that you perhaps do a piece/work/research every(other)day in your sketchbook but make sure that you have some free time even if it's tedious.+ try not to stay up too late. the demand in art is ridiculos so it can cause you to hate it but don't as it's exciting + will get even more exciting if you do it for AS (eee). i had thr same problemvfor the finsl pieces so don't doubt yourself + get stuck intp it straight away (this goes with the exam aswell- you can do bsically anything + you contrpl it etc)!!. you can do it!!!! keep your chin up!!! (gcses aren't that important but they are a bit so work hard + don't leave it to the last minute (i basically did this with science) + keep on drinking tea + hot beverages -summer will be wicked + awesome!!!) sorry this is reqlly long + probably boring but i wish i had had some kind of motivation apart from my post-it notes~ in the shape of cars~ saying 'just do it' on them. good luck!! i wish you all the best in your exams/work + life!xoxxox
ReplyDeletep.s. your outfit is unbelivably cool- as is your blog. you're such a coolcat. :-) also, i recently aquired a similar houndstooth skirt from the east ebd thrift store- they're thr best!
Ok this is like the best comment I have ever received...thankyou so much for the advice (it really helps!) it's so nice to hear that it's not just me going through it all...thankyou for being so supportive! :) x
DeleteI really understood about the stress over GCSEs, this is too much but i almost went crazy a few weeks before my A-Level Physics exams. but also i wish you'll get the best because you've done ur best, right, good luck for the rest of your school life! anyway, i really like your boots and skirt! they're purrrfect
